Legacy Facilitators In Massachusetts

I am a Life Legacy Letter Writing facilitator, Amherst Writers and Artists facilitator, a certified Sage-ing facilitator from Sage-ing International, end-of-life doula, and Hospice volunteer. The focus of my work is in supporting people doing life completion work by using age-ing as a time for deep reflection and spiritual growth.

Life Legacy letter writing is an easy way to share your stories, values, and memories with those whom you love and to future generations.  Legacy letters are an easy way to articulate how you have made meaning of specific events in your life, what you’ve learned, and the values that were highlighted through decisions that were made or not made but grew from in the process.  It is a way to bridge the past with the future allowing you to be seen, to be known, to bless others and yourself, to be remembered, to make a positive difference, and to celebrate your life. In addition to legacy work, I also run workshops on expanding elder consciousness, life review, forgiveness, healing relationships, and embracing our mortality.

I enjoy working in groups or one on one with the intention to weave a container of safety and inclusion. If you’re interested in exploring your life and sharing your stories, I look forward to working together.

Jasmine helps individuals crystallize and express their core values as a gift to those who live on after them. She works holistically with clients to plan for a sustainable legacy, which also may include physical, financial and emotional dimensions. After my mother died, I became interested in legacy work.  I realized how little I knew about her life and her ancestors.  Her stories had been too painful for my mother to remember or know, much less to share with any of us. I sensed something profound and necessary was missing from my life.

I have been a clinical social worker for about 35 years with a focus on oncology and bereavement.  Mainly my practice has been facilitating caregiver, bereavement, therapeutic writing, and cancer support groups for those both living with and dying of cancer.  Legacy work has become a perfect fit for that population.  On the side I maintain a private practice.  In my bereavements groups, I hear over and over members express how sad they feel  that they have nothing in hand writing from their loved ones - parents, siblings and children. It is a deep source of sorrow for participants.

I have taught legacy work around the country in various organizations including hospitals, national conferences, housing projects, retreat and senior centers, cancer support organizations, and in hospices with patients and staff. I am the author of Lasting Words: A Guide to Finding Meaning Toward the Close of Life and Opening to Grief.
